Adire cloth in Nigeria: The preparation and dyeing of indigo patterend cloths among the yoruba

$ 98.00

We got hooked on collecting indigo textiles from Japan and West Africa. The next step was to learn all about it and even experience the art of dying textiles ourselves. This rare book is a gem. It is a collection of essays on the dyeing of cloths by the Adire in Nigeria, with section titles including: "Dyeing Methods in Western Nigeria'; 'The Chemistry and General History of Dyeing'; 'The Origin of Some Adire Designs"; and 'The Devolution of the Jubilee Design".  A sound copy of a scarce study.
